Power System

  • LiPo (Lithium Polymer): The standard battery type. High power output but fragile.
  • Li-Ion (Lithium Ion): Cylindrical cells (like 18650). Lower power but higher capacity. Great for long-range cruising.
  • BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit): Regulates voltage. It turns your main battery voltage (e.g., 25V) into 5V to power your GPS or Receiver.
  • C-Rating: A measure of how fast a battery can discharge energy. Higher C (e.g., 100C) = more punch.

Control System

  • UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter): Hardware serial ports on the Flight Controller used to connect peripherals.
  • RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator): A number telling you how strong your radio link is.
  • LQ (Link Quality): A better measure than RSSI for digital protocols like ELRS. It tells you what percentage of data packets are actually arriving.

Video System

  • Analog: The traditional video system. Zero latency, static interference, cheap.
  • HD Digital (Walksnail/DJI): High definition video. Variable latency, pixelated breakup, expensive.
  • OSD (On-Screen Display): The text overlay in your goggles showing battery voltage, speed, and height.
